Normal value of urinary 17-Ketosteroids in the children and adolescence


Abstract
Experiment for the evaluation of Urinary 17-ketosteroids in 103 Children and adolescence in Korean from 3 to 18 years of age, was performed, especially the study was focused on the Comparison in different age groups.
The obtained Normal data for urinary 17-ketosteroids in different age groups were tabulated on the table I. The daily average values of urinary 17-ketosteroids excretion in boys and girls of pubertal ages are as fallow,
(i) in the age group of 12-15 yrs., 5.3mg/24hrs. in male and 5.0mg/24hrs in female respectively.
(ii) In the age group of 15-18yrs., 8.4mg/24hrs. in male and 7.Omg/24hrs in female respectively. As the data show, the daily average value of urinary. 17-ketosteroids, 7.Cmg/24hrs. in girl, is almost
same level as that of adult female.
In the comparison of the data for the Korean boys and girls with those of foreign boys and girls, there was no significant difference between the two.
Finally, the value from sexual difference among the same age group was evaluated.
The different value, for the boys and girls of the same age group up to preschool ages, was almost ignorable, while in the age group of 15-18year, there was a significant difference between boys and girls, the increased value for boys was 1.4mg/24hrs.
